Frequently Asked Questions
General
We see adults ages 18 and older who want to feel their best and are looking for clear answers and support for concerns affecting their physical, emotional, or mental well-being. Many of our patients come to us with unanswered questions about symptoms or experiences they’ve been having, or because they’re finding it difficult to function day to day or to live the life they envision for themselves. We work with people who want to better understand their options, including psychiatric medications and supplements, as well as those who are interested in lifestyle-based approaches such as improving sleep, making diet changes, exercise incorporations and building healthier routines to support overall wellness and help them feel their best.
While our providers have training in family medicine, we do not manage strictly medical conditions on an ongoing basis. As part of a work-up for your mental health symptoms, we will evaluate for and rule out medical conditions which may be causing any of your symptoms, and will provide referrals to specialists if needed. With being virtual, we are unable to manage the ongoing care of chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. and are not able to treat acute physical conditions such as ear infections, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, etc.
We do not have a lab within our practice. We will provide you with a lab referral for LabCorp or a generic lab order which you may take to any lab of your choosing. Lab services are billed directly by the lab, and are separate from charges for our appointments. Insurance often does cover lab work, however coverage varies by insurance company and lab. We recommend confirming with your insurance provider that they will cover the tests ordered at the lab you plan to use.
